A good food is made when you take a pound of chicken breast and put to it 1/2 cup of lime juice, 1/3 cup of soy sauce, two shots of tequila, and quite a large amount of garlic, combining these in a large plastic baggy and letting them sit in the fridge for half of one hour.  Then put to a cast-iron skillet oil of olive just to cover the bottom of the pan, and in it cook the chicken until it is toothsome.

Sounds delightful, although I'd probably grill it, because that's the kinda guy I am.

Besides, I don't have a cast-iron skillet.

Yeah, it's definitely something that would be good grilled. We just don't have a way to do that. We own a tiny grill, but we can't use it at the house - it's mainly for camping.

Well, you could put it under the broiler. That would expose it to open flame and be almost like grilling.

At any rate, it would be quite different from the cooking method you describe. Although I was mainly thinking that your marinade sounds great, no matter how the heat was applied.

Alas, we have an electric oven, so there's no open flame. Probably a good thing, as I'd be playing in the fire if we had a gas range. When we own a house, I'm going to a restaurant supply and getting a proper gas salamander, solely for cooking steaks (and the occasional thing like this).
