Oct. 31st, 2004 12:33 pmWell, I've got my Halloween costume together. We're not doing anything for Halloween but I still wanted to have a costume. All it is is my '60s British newscaster suit and my hair tucked up under Justin's brown fedora. I was going to add a handlebar mustache cut out of felt but Justin nixed it. The hat doesn't coordinate with the outfit at all, it's too wide and this suit really needs a brown derby or a narrow-brimmed trilby, but it's the only brown hat he has, so I'm stuck with it - I need a hat of some kind to tuck my hair up in. (The hat in my icon is actually greenish, so even if I knew where it was, it might not work.)
And then we'll go to Walmart and get my car inspected, and then we'll come home, and that's all I get to do in my "costume." Oh well. It's fun to dress up anyway.

Oct. 31st, 2004 04:07 pmWe just made our jack o lantern. I don't like shoving my hands down inside pumpkinguts, so we chopped the whole damn thing in half and made a Canadian/Weebl pumpkin. Also, we didn't have a pumpkin-carving knife, only the 8" chef's knife from the kitchen, so we couldn't carve the eyes out - they're drawn on with a Sharpie.... Justin will post photos soon.

Oct. 31st, 2004 06:49 pmWe just got our first trick-or-treaters. Three little kids - one was wearing a mask from Scream but with streaming blood down it, one tiny little kid was Batman, and I honestly have no idea what the third kid was. One of the moms asked if our pumpkin was one of the Canadians from South Park. Yay for trick-or-treaters and people who recognize our pumpkin.
