Musical Noodling

titusnowlZabbers wrote a bit of tune, and I was trying to play it on my keyboard, and it Grew Into A Thing.

me: i'd need to kiss up to somebody with a copy of Fruity Loops or sommat, to put drums in for me

me: i kind of went off in another direction with the drums
me: that thought having occurred to me afterward.

me: but the lyrics...hmm. i am not much of a lyricist
me: unless it's going to have simonlyrics.
zabbers: I've never tried to write lyrics for regular music.
zabbers: How does it work?
zabbers: You should make it to a poem!

me: that robert frost thing about the world will end in fire but ice is also nice?
zabbers: there could be a refrain that just goes You're Insane! You're Insane! You're Insane! You're Insane! kind of half-yelling
zabbers: lol, that should be a line exactly as you said it just now.
me: i could use the robert frost thing as an inspiration; it's too short to be the lyrics.

me: yeah and the refrain will have lyrics but also somebody in the background will be yelling You're Insane! between the lines - that's something MCR does a lto

From what I've tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
