Time for 1,000 Words!

Once upon a time I played "1,000 Words" in my LJ - writing a piece of the titular length on any random subject. So either give me a subject for 1,000 Words, or a subject on which I can write a scholarly essay.

I've not had much experience with Puck before, and going into the match I wanted Morimoto to win simply because I didn't want it to be an All-American Rout - it'd make us look like some sort of filthy nationalist or something, y'know? But having seen the match, I'm thinking I definitely want to see more of Puck just for the accent - and he deserves the win. Morimoto's dishes seemed to treat the featured ingredient, egg, as an afterthought: "this is tuna with wasabi and oh, yeah, there's an egg on top." Puck's dishes are indubitably egg-based, and egg is very much a feature ingredient. His are more in the spirit of the challenge. We'll see whether I'm right after the commercial break.

Well, this should be interesting. Sakai and Batali are the team I'm rooting for. Making Flay and Morimoto team up is... interesting, considering the latter can't stand the former due to his boorish behavior on the Japanese Iron Chef; however, they have the advantage that they do both speak the same language. I'm not sure how Sakai and Batali will be communicating.

Did Batali just ask Sakai "Do you need anything, darling?"

Ok, that clinches it: Flay has been delivering oral pleasure to at least one Food Network exec, and the final battle was rigged to help his ratings go up.
