May. 18th, 2006 03:32 pmI just got back from an interview in response to an ad for a secretary. At the interview it was revealed that the work described in the ad actually only accounts for about 25% of the workload, and the other 75% was not mentioned in the ad at all, and consists of helping with agricultural studies (meaning, hoeing rows, thinning plants, and sitting outside counting bugs for hours at a time).
I'm torn between my curiosity and enthusiasm for getting outside and learning something new and (not to be discounted) HAVING A JOB THAT PAYS MONEY, and my fear that I'll get third-degree sunburn on my entire body and hate it every single day. I mean, it is really interesting work, in theory. But can I really be happy hoeing rows and counting bugs, even if there IS a massive adorable black cat rubbing against my legs and purring while I do it?
