Clay was a total asshole today; I tried six times to tell Kevin some important information regarding one of our customers (namely, she needs to have a 40% discount applied when she comes in today, to make up for us running out of paper on Sunday when she tried to make her copies the first time), and Clay would see me open my mouth, assume I was socializing, and BARK at me from across the store. "ARE THE PAPER TRAYS FULL?!? DOES THE GARBAGE NEED EMPTYING?!!? CAN YOU HELP THAT MAN AT THE COUNTER?!" The funny thing, of course, and I don't mean funny ha-ha I mean funny you're-an-asshole, is that I was greeting people when they came in, finding out what they needed, and only sending them up to the counter if they NEEDED to be at the counter (this is, after all, my job), and Clay was so fucking busy talking about The Matrix with Sam that he was ignoring the people I sent to see him for help. But Monday is his last day ever so he can't stress me anymore.
I want some music to listen to. Any suggestions?
We got SWAG today! Fedex sent us each a beach bag, a tiny frisbee, a t-shirt, a really nice pen, and a packet of promotional material about the merger and such. Wee. I hope UPS buys Fedex so we can get MORE swag! BROWN swag! SWAG!!!!!!!
Ten bucks says the new uniforms require black pants. I hate black pants. I got rid of all my black pants when I quit Staples, and I'm not looking forward to buying new uniform pants AGAIN when I just bought some a month or two ago. WHY did the Kinko's people change our uniform after they KNEW they'd been bought out and were going to change the uniform again if only to put a new logo on? Why did they want to spend all that money on new shirts for everyone in every store?
I wonder if the new ones will follow the FedEx uniform paradigm of "NASCAR pit crew shirts."
Justin has a pedal-powered paddleboat now! Well, his uncle has it, and put it in their yard because he didn't have room for it. Its rudder and one wheel is broken, so he might just let us have it. Then we can fix it up and paint it and get one of those little flagpoles they have for biycles and run up the Jolly Roger! Piratepedalpaddleboat!
