Adjusting to a new way of life can be difficult, so we have provided a map of the campus and a list of events, activities, and resources to help you make an easy transition into becoming a Pyro.

My name is Timothy Stalking Deer, and I teach biochemistry here with PHIRE. In addition to seeing you in class, I'm also proud to be your advisor. I'm here to help you with scheduling, choosing your classes, settling in, and any of the other issues that can arise when you're learning new things in a new place.
My office is in Room 24 of the East Hall, and my daily open office hours are from 2 pm to 4 pm Monday through Thursday and 6 pm to 7 pm on Friday. Drill Field [this is the "courtyard" in the center of the main compound. there's empty space opposite the Dean's House, in the southeast corner, and that is where the Fire Drill house is built]

WELCOME WEEK
Monday:
8 am - 11 am - Check-In & Move-In. Upon arrival, please pick up your information packet and ID card, verify your personal information on file, and register any vehicle you may have brought. You can begin moving into your dorm as soon as you've checked in.
11 am - 1 pm - Free Lunch. Yes, there is such a thing! Stop by the cafeteria for soup and a sandwich.
1 pm - 5 pm - New Student and Transfer Advisor Meetings. Stop by your advisor's office to say hello. If you're not sure who your advisor is, go to Room 302 in the Main Hall to find out.
6:30 pm - Dinner and a Movie. Picnic supper (served family-style) will be provided on the drill field, and at sunset we'll be screening "Cars" on the rear wall of the Main Hall. Bring a blanket to sit on!
9:30 pm - 11 pm - Meet & Greet. Gather in the lobby of your residence hall to meet your RAs and fellow students.
Tuesday:
8:30 am - 12:30 pm - Placement Exams. For specific time and room information, see the notice board in the Main Hall lobby.
12:30 pm - 1:30 pm - Lunch with your Advisor. Have a seat in the cafeteria to talk with your advisor and new friends. (Look for your advisor's name on a table.)
2 pm - 3 pm - Computer Orientation. Stop by the computer lab in your dorm to be set up with a university system login and password and learn how to access your email.
8 pm - The Flamers. The cafeteria of the Main Hall will be transformed into a miniature theatre for a performance by PHIRE's own improv comedy group, the Flamers.
Wednesday:
All day - Scheduling. Speak with your advisor to arrange an appointment.
8:30 am - 12:30 pm - Hearth Transfer Orientation. Meet at Castillo Hall.
2 pm - 3 pm - Hot from the Oven. Stop by the Castillo Hall lobby for a fresh cookie and a drink.
6 pm - 7:30 pm - Hearth Welcome Dinner. A buffet of traditional German foods in the cafeteria.
Thursday:
All day - Scheduling. Speak with your advisor to arrange an appointment.
8:30 am - 12:30 pm - Forge Transfer Orientation. Meet at Castillo Hall.
6 pm - 9 pm - Forge Welcome Supper. An outdoor barbeque and live music from Smokey and the Bears, on the drill field.
Friday:
5 pm - Fire Drill. Gather by class year on the drill field - freshmen and new transfers meet at the statue. Your advisor will help you.
All faculty offices will be open from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm during Welcome Week.
